"What just might be the best commercial rafting company in North America. The trips are spectacular beyond description, the guides are the best of the best, the food is incomparable, and the customers are treated like royalty."
To all our past and present guests - Thank You!  At the end of every year we sift through the emails and the photos from all of you and it never fails to give us goose bumps, it never fails to make us happy (and a little sad), and it never fails to remind us of the power and beauty of our wild places and, even more importantly, of the unique and remarkable people we are lucky enough to spend time with on the river every season. So, with your continued support, wonderful personalities, and adventurous spirits we will continue to keep and attract the best guides anywhere. We will continue to reshape the way river travel is run and to work towards setting the standard in trip quality and environmental responsibility. And we will continue to run rivers and add adventures that are the best in their class and that are off the beaten path. To all past and present guests a huge - "THANK YOU!" For those who have not been on a rafting trip with us below are some highlights and then a rolling list of testimonials as they come in from our guests. You can also check out TripAdvisor.com and Yelp.com for even more. Enjoy!

  • "Three or so years ago, I made this same journey with a dozen other folks in heartbreakingly beautiful sunny weather — a wonderful trip. THIS time, I dragged my husband along, and together with just two other fellas and our superb guide Anna, we froze our butts off during a couple days of unseasonable rain. Yet, when I think back, all I can recall was the extraordinary natural beauty of the river, the camaraderie of our fellow paddlers, my admiration for our river guide, the comfort of our accommodations, and how grateful I was that second afternoon when we pulled into Paradise Lodge and got our “Rum and Tea” in the bar. Thank you, Momentum — can’t wait till next time!"
  • "It was early August 2018. Fires were raging throughout Southern Oregon and California, and while we worried for the firefighters and towns, we also selfishly worried our family vacation would be canceled. Jae at Momentum assured us that would not be the case sending a picture of the Rogue showing proof of life so we got on the plane and headed out. Arriving in Grants Pass (unfortunately, The Galice Resort had to be closed), we pulled into the hotel lot noticing most of the other vehicles were fire control trucks while ash fell onto our shoulders. What had we gotten ourselves into? The next day the sky was a bit clearer as we made our way to an improvised meeting point. We pulled into the lot almost hitting a man in a broad-rimmed hat who stepped out of a building into the driveway. He smiled and waved seeming not to mind. That was certainly a different response than we would have received back home. We soon learned this would be our rafting guide Vikram. It was only later that we learned he would also serve as our nature guide, history teacher, and spiritual shaman (telling us something to the effect of the river is its own religion). After prepping us for the trip and transferring our belongings into dry bags, a second guide, Rob, drove us to the meeting spot where we met the third amigo -- Jeff. These three men would be our team leaders for the next three days, guiding us into the pristine waters of the Rogue and away from the fire, civilization, and the worries of a busy life. We were a family of five with two teens and a 9 year old. There was a mother and her teen son on the trip, a nice couple from the midwest, and two men with their father, bringing him back to a river where he had spent countless days of his adult life while working. We were a motley group, but Vikram, Jeff, and Rob brought us together through rafting, kayaking, food, and drink. Those three days were spent away from technology, away from the busyness of life, and in the presence of nature -- smiles replacing stress lines as nature and solitude replaced concrete and crowds. The actual rafting was, for the most part, easy and relaxing with enough good rapids mixed in to keep things exciting. Vikram was a man from a storybook weaving tales of his times rafting through the US, Africa, India, and Norway. Explaining how to read a river, what makes a rapid, and pointing out the wildlife along the way. Jeff guided his raft (which I was not in) with a smile on his face. Like a sea captain, he often had our youngest son perched on the front of the raft serving as the rafts figurehead leading the way. Both men knew the river well, gave precise instructions, and found places for swimming -- and at the request of the aforementioned nine year old, rock jumping. For lunches, we would pull to shore where Rob (who was gear-guiding) would have tables set for lunch and a spread of food to satisfy all. At times wild berries grew in nearby bushes to supplement the meals. In the evenings we stayed in lodges. The first night, Rob, Vikram, and Jeff prepared an amazing meal which we ate together followed by hours on the porch sharing tales over drinks. Anything you may hear about one father being so tired he went to bed soon after dinner should be ignored as completely unsubstantiated. The second night was spent at the Paradise Lodge, a sort of Four Seasons tucked away in the hills. Again after a dinner to satisfy all, we spent hours on the porch sharing stories and looking at stars -- more stars than many of us had ever seen. It was a celestial masterpiece. As with the first night, our guides ensured it was a celebration of a great day. The third day was shorter and the river wider and flatter -- a reminder that there are times in life where you simply have to keep rowing to push through. The river was teaching us a final lesson before letting us depart. We've sat as a family revisiting this trip and the guides. What else can we say? The guides were professional, great cooks, great with kids and adults, and great teachers. The three men worked well together. Jeff and Rob, in particular, made a great team while Vikram was larger than life on his own. Who knows if life will lead us back to the Rogue, but after this trip, it will lead us on more adventures in search of white waters. TLDR: Momentum does a great job. We really like Vikram, Jeff, and Rob, We'd do it again."
  • "I’ve traveled with Pete on 4 trips, 3 of them covering multiple days. In every case, his professionalism shines and in each case, my experiences have been nothing less than brilliant."
  • "Thanks Andy for a great time! I personally have not rafted so this experience was wonderful. I would do it again! I loved taking in the nature all around us. Looking forward to another LONGER trip."
  • "We are frequent flyers with Momentum. We have followed Pete and his expert crew from the rural Illinois river to the Futaleufu in Chile. This years trip was another amazing experience, The 3 day lodge trip on the Rogue provided abundant wildlife and comfortable beds. If you are looking for a raft company in Oregon or Northern Calif. look no further....go with Momentum."
  • "Robyn, We had a great trip. It was good family time. I must say I have never had such luxurious camping before in my life. You guys did a great job and the food was fabulous. Thanks so much for everything!"
  • "I am holding Momentum Rafting completely responsible for turning my entire family in to a bunch of....White Water Junkies!!!! There are very few times when all of us, with 3 teenagers, are all on the same page and 100% happy and present in an activity. This was one of those times. When our guide Robyn told our 3 kids to sit in the front of the raft and to simply enjoy a fun rapid that was coming up, and then proceeded to plow the raft in to a giant standing wave that completely drenched everyone on board, was one of the great highlights of our trip. The squeals and screams were priceless. All of the guides and the fabulous support crew worked extra hard to christen a new camp site and to make sure that everyone was well taken care of. The food was wonderful and the stories were entertaining. We are already scouting for our next river to conquer!! Thanks Pete!!"
  • "Thank you for the wonderful experience we had rafting and camping on the Rogue in late July. We had never been on an organized rafting trip, and so weren't sure what to expect. We loved the small size of the group; the scenery was magnificent (especially all the little creeks and waterfalls along the way); and it was especially fun to be able to go through some of the rapids in the inflatable kayaks. Our guides Mara and Anthony were simply spectacular. They worked constantly to make everyone feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed. We learned a tremendous amount about water safety, rafting techniques, reading the river, and natural history from them, and the food they put together was truly outstanding. We have never eaten so well on a camping trip before. We appreciated the special effort they put in to accommodate vegetarians and other special dietary needs. We are already starting to think about our next rafting trip with Momentum--and hopefully with Mara and Anthony! Thanks again for a great vacation! -Tom and Kevin "
  • "What a blissful journey it was with you three....so much gratitude for taking us on such an outstanding adventure! -Sascha "
  • "We had an awesome time and were impressed with ever thing about our trip down the Rogue. The guides were all extremely knowledgeable, safety-minded, interesting and caring. I cannot think of one reason to look for a different outfitter if we do another trip! "
  • "We had a great trip. It was good family time. I must say I have never had such luxurious camping before in my life. You guys did a great job and the food was fabulous. Thanks so much for everything. Love the pictures!"
  • "OMG ... What an incredible family reunion with the most amazing guides, camping hosts. Can't say enough. Trip of a lifetime. Thank you sooo much!!!"
  • "Couldn't have asked for anything better. Our guides knew the river like the back of their hand, with over 40yrs collective experience as guides. They knew all the fun "secret spots" and their easy-going, fun-focused manner made for a memorable and safe trip. We're already planning another trip for next summer."
  • "We had such an awesome time! The girls voted it "best trip ever" (except for their colds) and you all had everything to do with that. And just so you know, you had some pretty stiff competition that includes trips to Alaska, Vienna, Paris and New York...Thanks for doing what you're doing. The trip met every expectation and more. Take care and we hope we see you again next year! Laurie and Nancy"
  • "Hi Erik, Your leadership of the trip helped make it a great experience for everyone. Everyone came back without any injuries and still had a terrific experience. Thanks for being a great leader and teacher. -Jeff"
  • "It was so much fun and we had an AMAZING time! You, John and Tyler were all excellent guides, and took such amazing care of us. I hope you all have a great summer, and we will continue to tell all of our friends and family what a great experience we had."
  • "Pete, Just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for hooking us up with our amazing guides this past weekend. Alan, Robyn and Anthony were just awesome. Made our first time on the rapids the most enjoyable experience ever. Their professionalism, courtesy and dedication to their work/clients were much appreciated. The meals were delectable, the lodges (especially Paradise) were beyond expectations, happy hour beverages/h'ors douevres were greatly appreciated and of course the camaraderie and care provided by our awesome guides made the whole experience. They even surprised my daughter for her 13th birthday on the river with cupcakes/candles without my even asking (think they overheard some of the gals talking about her bday and took it upon themselves). You've got a great crew and we'll of course tell all our acquaintances in San Diego about Momentum River Expeditions! Some of the guys are already plotting a dads/sons trip!"
  • "Tyler, Anthony, Sam,and Alaina were excellent river guides as well as informative historians. They exceeded our expectations with wit, humor, and excellent cooking and organizational skills. I would travel any river with any or all of them any time. Their concern for our well being was their highest priority and I thank them for their expertise."
  • "Hi Erik, Thank you so much for such a wonderful trip! We were so impressed with all of the guides and we liked that everyone was very efficient and professional, while each having a fun and unique personality. Every part of the trip was so unique and we totally fell in love with the area. I haven't had that much fun in a long time! Phillip and I are hoping to make it up there to do one of the one day trips as well. I also have to thank you and the whole company for being so careful with our gluten allergy. After the first meal, seeing how careful you all were, I was able to relax and enjoy mealtime--which is usually something I can only do in my own home. That made the entire trip even better. Overall, I could not have been more happy with how everything went and we will definitely be adding rafting to our list of favorite activities! Thank you! -Tiffany"
  • "I still feel like I'm on the river! It was just a really fantastic experience for me.....so much so that as soon as I bought a used wet suit and went boogie boarding! I've been wanting to do that for twelve years, but feared those waves. Now I don't; I just "forward two"!!!!! Thank you, thank you, for your wonderful guidance and labor to allow us to enjoy the Rogue. Truly it was unforgettable........I'm telling friends (and sons) and who knows who might show up for the ride!? Play safe and know you have indeed changed lives for the better. -M.I."
