“It was a glorious trip. The scenery was as fantastic as we had anticipated and the weather even cooperated. The tents were easy, the pads cushy, the splash jackets perfect and the food terrific. But the contribution that you guides made to the enjoyment of the trip was immeasurable!” - Leslie

Travel To The Owyhee River

The Owyhee flows through one of the most remote areas in the lower 48 states. Our Lower Owyhee Rafting and Kayaking trips begin and end in Boise Idaho (although you can also meet us in Rome, Or). Our Middle Owyhee trip meets in Rome, Or. We will send you detailed travel info in your trip confirmation pack.

Boise Idaho

The Boise Airport (BOI):

Boise Airport is a small and easy to access airport that is served by most major airlines. We recommend flying in the day before your trip and leaving time for a good night’s sleep.

Driving to Boise:

Boise is located conveniently along interstate 84. When making hotels reservations it is important to ask about leaving your car while you are on the river.

Rome, Oregon

Rome, Oregon is very small (basically just a café) and is located on Hwy 95 in the southeast corner of the state between Burns Junction and Jordan Valley. The river access is located on the South East side of the bridge crossing the Owyhee River (in view of the Rome Café).

We are proud to operate under Special Use Permits granted to us by the Oregon Marine Board, the Bureau of Land Management - Klamath Falls Resource Area, Medford Oregon Resource Area, and the Vale District - and The U.S. Forest Service - Ashland Oregon Ranger District, Happy Camp Ranger District, and Idaho's Salmon-Challis National Forest. We are an equal opportunity recreation service provider. All trips operate on a non-discriminatory basis.
