How to Organize a Group Whitewater
rafting trip
The following are some tips and guidelines to help make planning your
Northern California or Oregon group rafting trip as simple as
possible. As always, we are always here to help!
Plan Ahead
This is definitely the most important tip; it makes everything
easier. That being said, all of us have tossed things together
at the last minute and made it work (for some, it’s a gift),
but if you have the time, use it. Give yourself time to discuss
with interested people what kind of trip they would like. A one-day
or a multi-day wilderness river trip? A very exciting, moderate,
or scenic trip? Also, start thinking about lodging and transportation
options, if needed.
Call Us about Booking Your Rafting Trip
Give us a call at 1-866-663-5628 to talk about your date, trip,
number of people, and price. Once we decide on a date, we can
hold that date for you for a few weeks while you get participants
to sign up.
Get the Word Out
If you’re not yet sure who will be going on the rafting
trip, getting the word out is important. Let people know what
you’re up to. Some good ideas are e-mail, posting notices,
and having sign-up sheets available and posted. We can supply
you with river write-ups and brochures if needed.
Collect Money
This is the hardest part. We recommend being firm regarding the
dates on which people need to have their deposit and final payment
in. Remember, deposits for groups are due 14 days after signing
up, and final payment is due 14 days prior to the trip departure
for half- and one-day white water trips, and 21 days prior for
multi-day trips. Make sure everyone knows about the cancellation
policy before sending in the deposits.

Your Role as Organizer
· You are the main contact between your group and us.
Keep us informed regarding any changes in your numbers, cancellations,
requests, etc., and don’t be afraid to ask us for help.
We can’t stress this enough; we are happy to help!
· Make sure everyone in your group is informed about the
rafting trip details: when it is, where it is, what kind of trip
it is, and our policies (our cancellation policy is an important
one).
· Let us know about any special requests your group might
have.
· If you have minors on the trip, make sure their waiver
forms are signed by their legal guardians and brought to the river.
· Enjoy yourself! And remember, as soon as the trip starts,
you can relax and leave everything to us.
