California Salmon river Information ANd Getting there and away

The California Salmon is located in one of the most remote areas of California. Please give us a call if you have any questions about transportation. For both trips we meet near Somes Bar, California.

Flying: The closest airports are in Redding California, and our home airport of Medford, Oregon. Many of our guests fly into Medford, spend the night in Ashland (see out Travel to Ashland Page) and then rent a car and drive down to the river. We also offer a shuttle from the Airport (for specific flight times) and from Ashland in the afternoon of the start date. The shuttle is a $50 group rate for 1 to 14 people. This is becoming a more and more popular option. There is also a very small private airport in Happy Camp, California and we can arrange a pick-up from there.

Driving: Over half our guests drive and we give detailed directions to our meeting place when you reserve your trip. The drives are beautiful and many times guests add an extra day or two to see the Redwoods or the California or Oregon coasts. General driving ties are shown below:
